Common questions
Why choose PNG over JPG for this?
PNG is lossless, so screenshots, diagrams and anything with sharp text edges stay clean. JPG blurs those edges slightly. For photographs the difference doesn't matter and JPG produces smaller files.
What happens to transparent areas?
They become white. A PDF page has no concept of transparency to the paper, so the alpha channel is composited onto a white background.
My PNG PDF is enormous. Why?
PNG doesn't compress photographs well — a photo saved as PNG can be five times the size of the same image as JPG. If your PNGs are photos rather than graphics, convert them to JPG first.
Can I keep the exact pixel dimensions?
Yes. Choose match image and each page is created at the image's own size, one point per pixel.
Does this work with screenshots from a phone?
Yes. Long screenshots produce tall pages when you match the image; choose A4 if you need them to print on standard paper.
