Photographing a document so it converts well
The most common problem isn't the conversion, it's the source. Shoot straight down rather than at an angle, get even light without a shadow from your own hand, and fill the frame with the page. A photo that needs explaining is a photo that should be retaken.
If your phone has a document scan mode, use it. It corrects perspective and flattens contrast, which produces a far more legible PDF than a raw photo and a much smaller file.

Common questions
Can I put several photos on one page?
Not currently — the tool places one image per page. For a contact-sheet layout you'd need to compose the grid in an image editor first.
Will the photos lose quality?
No. JPGs are embedded as they are, without re-encoding. The PDF holds your original image data.
Why is my PDF so large?
Modern phone photos are several megabytes each, and the PDF is the sum of them. Run the result through compress if it needs to be emailed.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. Images are read from your device and assembled in the browser. Photographs of identity documents never leave the machine.
What order do the images come out in?
Exactly the order shown in the list, which you can change with the arrows before converting.
