Common questions
Which resolution should I pick?
Screen is fine for previews or posting online. Good suits most sharing. Print is for images that will be reproduced on paper — it produces noticeably larger files, so don't reach for it by default.
Why are the filenames padded with zeros?
So they sort correctly. Without padding, page 10 sorts before page 2 in most file browsers.
Can I convert only page 3?
Extract page 3 first, then convert. That's one extra step but avoids rendering pages you don't want.
JPG or PNG for this?
JPG for pages with photographs, PNG for pages of text and line art where you want no compression artifacts at all.
Will the text in the images be searchable?
No. An image is an image — rendering a page discards the text layer entirely. If you need the words, extract them to text from the original PDF before converting.
