When merging beats printing to one file
The usual reason people merge is that someone at the other end will only accept one attachment — a grant portal, an HR system, a court filing. Sending six separate PDFs when the form asks for one is a common way to get an application bounced.
The other reason is archival. A month of invoices scattered across six files is harder to search and easier to lose than a single document with the same pages in date order. Merging first, then adding page numbers, turns a folder into a record.
Getting the order right the first time
Most merge mistakes are ordering mistakes. Files dragged in from a folder arrive in whatever order the operating system sorted them, which is usually alphabetical — and alphabetical rarely matches chronological. Scan-01, Scan-10 and Scan-2 will sort in that order, not the one you want.
The fix is to check the numbered list before merging rather than after. If the sequence is wrong, move files with the arrows. It takes a few seconds and saves rebuilding the whole document.

Common questions
How many PDFs can I combine at once?
There is no hard limit. Because the work happens in your browser, the real ceiling is how much memory your device has. Twenty ordinary documents is comfortable on most laptops; a few hundred scanned pages will be slower.
Will merging change how my pages look?
No. Pages are copied across as-is, keeping their original size, orientation and embedded fonts. A mix of A4 and Letter pages stays mixed rather than being forced to one size.
Can I merge files of different page sizes?
Yes, and each page keeps its own dimensions. If you'd rather everything matched, run the result through the resize tool afterwards.
Does this work on a phone?
Yes. Tap the panel to pick files from your device, cloud drive or downloads folder, then reorder with the arrows before merging.
Are my files uploaded?
No. The merge runs entirely in your browser using local processing. Closing the tab wipes everything from memory.
