Common questions
Do page numbers shift as pages are removed?
No. Every number you type is counted against the original document, so removing page 2 doesn't turn page 3 into page 2 mid-operation. Type the numbers you can see.
Can I remove all the blank pages automatically?
Not automatically — blank detection is unreliable when scans have speckle and shadows. Check the page numbers yourself and list them.
Does removing pages make the file smaller?
Usually a little, but not proportionally. Fonts and shared resources stay embedded. Run it through compress if size is the real goal.
Can I remove pages from a locked PDF?
No. Encryption is exactly what stops the page content being read. Remove the password in whatever software you normally open the file with, then come back.
What if I only want to keep a few pages?
Use extract pages instead. Naming five keepers beats naming ninety-five casualties.
